In a shocking and distressing turn of events, the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo is actively seeking Khahliso Ratsoma, a 28-year-old man, in connection with two brutal murders that have left the community in shock and fear.

The victims, 56-year-old Magdeline Motlanthe and her 31-year-old son, Nkgoropo Joseph Motlanthe, were mercilessly murdered and dismembered. Their lifeless bodies were discovered in separate locations along the Roedtan-Zebediela road in Waterberg and Apel in Sekhukhune Districts.

Magdeline went missing on January 8, 2024, while travelling to Pretoria in her white Toyota Hilux. Tragically, her decapitated body was found later, adding to the horror of the situation. Even more chilling is the fact that her son's body had been discovered a week prior to her disappearance.

At present, a foreign national and another male (32), believed to be connected to Magdeline, are in police custody. However, the prime suspect, Khahliso Ratsoma, remains at large, prompting urgent calls from authorities for any information that could lead to his apprehension.

The gruesome nature of these murders has sparked strong reactions from the public. Some express frustration with the perceived lack of government action against criminals, emphasising the need for a more robust approach. Others share their horror and concern, likening the case to an intense crime drama.

As the manhunt intensifies, it is a stark reminder of the need for collective efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of communities. The tragic events in Limpopo underscore the importance of swift justice and effective measures to prevent such heinous acts in the future.
